February 14, 2018 – Pittsburgh – Today Clean Water Action endorsed Erika Strassburger in her campaign for City Council District 8. Clean Water Action is non-profit environmental organization that has worked to win strong health and environmental protections by bringing issue expertise, solution-oriented thinking and people power to the table. They have roughly 80,000 members across Pennsylvania, and 1,500 members in District 8.
“Its shocking that one of the few things Democrats and Republicans can agree on in Harrisburg is the need to continue to allow the oil and gas industry to evade our clean water laws,” stated Myron Arnowitt, Pennsylvania Director for Clean Water Action.
Environmental community calls on PA House to reject budget that sacrifices clean air, clean water and public health
As the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives returns to session to consider revenue packages for the state budget, environmental leaders gathered with local citizens in the Capitol on Tuesday to deliver a message: the proposed budget is a raw deal for all Pennsylvanians.
Wildlife recreation, including fishing, is a $2.8 billion industry in Pennsylvania, and small breweries in Pennsylvania are supporting over 32,000 jobs currently.
