We can’t wait for political will and state budget surpluses to drive the shift to clean, renewable energy. That’s why Clean Water’s CT Energy Network (CTEN) was formed more than ten years ago after a state funding program ended.
The Network is an exciting group of local energy task force members from towns across the state. Our goal is to support and ramp up local, clean energy projects across the state by sharing best practices, keeping each other updated on the latest technologies and funding opportunities, and supporting each other’s local campaigns for clean energy.
Municipal clean energy and energy efficiency programs save towns money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and make our environment healthier and more sustainable! CTEN is stepping in with grassroots energy and organizing expertise to fill the gap left by federal and state funding cuts.
What We Do:
- Host annual gatherings with expert speakers and opportunities for sharing and learning from each other
- Host monthly network calls to support each other’s efforts
- Support energy efficiency and clean energy projects in towns, in conjunction with People’s Action for Clean Energy (PACE) and energy task force leaders
- Collaborate with decision makers in municipalities, at the Energy Efficiency Board, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and the General Assembly to educate the public on clean energy benefits and technologies.
Our goal is to grow the Network to support establishing energy task force groups in all of Connecticut’s 169 towns while continuing to provide on-going education, networking, and best practice information across the state.
