Clean Water Action is a national, grassroots environmental organization that seeks to protect the environment and safeguard public health, promote passage of strong environmental laws, and help communities address local environmental problems affecting them. Clean Water Fund provides research, education, organizing, and technical assistance to strengthen grassroots environmental efforts around the country, promoting the public interest on issues related to water, natural resources, health, and a healthy economy. Clean Water Fund is seeking a passionate Energy Efficiency Outreach Intern for Summer 2025 to support our Climate Justice team in Massachusetts. This is a temporary hybrid paid internship, based out of our Boston office, includes opportunities for on-site events in Attleboro and Taunton, where we run active campaigns. Our work tackles big issues such as toxic pollution, clean energy, drinking water safety, Zero Waste, and climate justice—while centering equity and ensuring those most impacted have a voice. Responsibilities
•Facilitating energy efficiency outreach at public events including tabling and distributing informational and educational materials at events including at universities.
•Creating captivating and informative content for sharing on social media. This includes website articles, blog posts, designing posts and other multimedia content that centers Clean Water’s energy efficiency outreach goals, etc.
•Assisting with outreach to renters/ landlords in Environmental Justice communities regarding energy efficiency.
• Attending both internal and external meetings, taking notes, and reporting on next steps and working with team members to plan and execute energy efficiency outreach goals.
• Assisting in putting together campaign materials and research.
• Assisting in development and presentation of webinars to educate the public about energy efficiency outreach initiatives.
• Assisting the climate justice team in designing and conducting/facilitating energy efficiency workshops.
• Conducting outreach and managing ongoing engagement of volunteer database.
• Administrative work and other tasks may be assigned.
•Minimum of a High School diploma.
•Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from college/university in a relevant field of environment or community development.
•Passion for protecting human health and the environment
•Strong interest in energy justice and energy efficiency work
•Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
•Strong communication skills both in writing and speaking.
•Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively toward shared goals
•Strong understanding of environmental justice principles is a plus.
•Interest and engagement with other social justice issues is a plus
•Familiarity with campaign organizing in a variety of racial and socio-economic communities, and/or communications is highly desired.
•Candidates must be able to complete work and communicate virtually through email, Google Docs, and Slack.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
• Able to commute to and from our office and attend in-person events or field activities, as required.
• Reliable access to transportation (public transit, rideshare, personal vehicle, etc.) to travel to office or off-site locations.

Location: This is a Hybrid position. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of our Boston office. Travel opportunities will occur for on-site events in Attleboro and Taunton, where we run active campaigns.
Schedule: Work will generally take place from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional assignments being done in the evenings or weekends. The internship opportunity will begin on June 23, 2025, and end August 29, 2025.
