The Clean Water Act is intended to protect waterways from harmful pollutants, yet many streams and wetlands have lost their protections and others continue to be at risk. Streams and wetlands are more than just landscape features — they are critical parts of our natural water infrastructure that influence downstream water quality, including in drinking water sources.

ReThink Disposable Case Study | Borough of Red Bank

In 2024, ten New Jersey municipalities passed Skip the Stuff Ordinances, which has restaurants only provide single-use cutlery and condiments upon request for take-out orders. Red Bank’s Green Team, with the help of Clean Water Action, created educational flyers in English and Spanish and provided outreach to businesses and residents.
