HONORING LEGACY | LEADERSHIP | BLACK EXCELLENCE

Black History Month is a time to honor legacy, leadership, and Black excellence. Throughout February, Clean Water Action will proudly spotlight our Black Water Champions—leaders who are advancing the work of protecting our water, our health, and our communities. From those on the front lines to those working behind the scenes, these champions embody dedication, resilience, and service. We are honored to celebrate and uplift the individuals whose commitment continues to make a lasting impact at Clean Water Action and in communities across the country. Colron Chambers embodies these qualities.

Colron Chambers serves as the National Board Chair of Clean Water Action, leading one of the nation’s most impactful grassroots environmental organizations into its next half-century of advocacy. Based in Jersey City, NJ, Colron brings a powerful combination of high-level operational discipline and deep community roots to the fight for environmental justice—the principle that everyone deserves clean, safe water and a healthy environment, regardless of race, income, or zip code.

His leadership is defined by a unique ability to bridge the gap between corporate logistics and grassroots mobilization. As a former Director of Operations, Colron managed high-volume supply chains and strategic execution for a diverse portfolio of partners. His professional background includes driving operational engagement for global brands such as Google, The Economist, and Amex Open (Small Business Saturday), as well as optimizing complex logistics within the Amazon and Walmart ecosystems. Additionally, Colron champions organizational modernization, collaborating with the leadership of tech platforms like Recapped to implement AI-driven efficiencies in complex workflows. He has now translated this private-sector rigor into the "logistics of democracy," scaling how environmental campaigns are executed.

Colron’s history with Clean Water Action is grounded in results. As a long-serving leader within Clean Water Action in New Jersey (formerly the New Jersey Environmental Federation) and the Urban League, he played a pivotal role in organizing the ground game for some of the state's most historic environmental victories. Most notably, he rose from knocking on doors as a canvasser, to helping steer the grassroots strategy for Essex and Passaic Counties' Lead Service Line Replacement Program (LSLRP). His work has mobilized thousands of residents, proving that environmental policy only works when paired with door-to-door community trust.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserves, Colron served as a Legal Services Specialist. This background instilled in him a rigorous respect for governance and procedure, which he applies to his current role overseeing the compliance and strategic direction of the National Board.

Colron is an active student of Spanish and Mandarin, committed to building a "big tent" environmental movement that transcends language barriers. He views his Chairmanship not just as a governance role, but as a mandate to position Clean Water Action as the premier partner for corporations and governments seeking to solve complex sustainability challenges.

Congratulations Colron. You are a Clean Water Champion.
